The “Connected Experience” app by Airbus won first prize in the special Crystal Cabin Award category “Best Customer Journey Experience” at the APEX Awards in Los Angeles on Monday (September 9, 2019). The app allows passengers to order pasta or chicken dishes using their mobile phones. It also confirms whether cabin baggage will fit into the overhead locker and the networked cabin allows the crew toregulate temperature and lighting and communicate with passengers. Airbus triumphed over a voice-controlled lavatory by Diehl and Latécoère’s “LiFi Power” for transmitting data using light.
