Fabian Friedrich, the initiator of the Hanseatic Blockchain Institute and founder of the Blockchance Campus, is preparing to host the international “Blockchance 2019” conference from August 16-17, 2019 in Hamburg’s Chamber of Commerce. Around 750 delegates, 1,500 trade fair visitors in technology, science, commerce and the financial services sector are expected to focus on the opportunities of Blockchain during the meet. Topics on the agenda include start-up pitches, blockchain accelerators and Facebook’s proposed crypto currency called Libra. The Blockchain-Startup-Award will be presented during the conference, which is part of the Blockchain Summer – a series of events on Distributed Ledger Technologies in Hamburg.

Paying with Bitcoin

Under the patronage of Peter Tschentscher, Mayor of Hamburg, the organisers welcome the presenting partner BlockRock Ventures. Meanwhile, Dr. Sebastian SaxeCDO of the Economics Authority BWVI and Port Authority HPA, said: “I wish that Hamburg becomes leader of digital technologies in Germany, possibly through blockchain.” This year’s conference offers a mix of expert talks, panels, users’ fair and networking platform. Delegates will be able to pay with Bitcoin at the Chamber of Commerce’s stands.

Pitch session, Blockchain Kindergarten and Accelerator

Ten select high-tech start-ups specializing in forward-looking blockchain and crypto currency solutions will pitch under the motto “The Future of Social Economics”. Dr. Evan Luthra, one of the world’s leading investors in start-ups in the blockchain ecosystem, is providing the prize money of EUR 50,000. Newcomers can get to know the growing Blockchain and crypto community during the sections “Blockchain Kindergarten” and “Building a physical Blockchain”, organized by the Hanseatic Blockchain Institute. A number of panels and talks will focus on the economic, financial and social effects of Facebook’s proposed crypto currency, the Libra coin. BlockRockVentures will launch the first accelerator for blockchain and crypto currency topics on August 13, 2019 in Hamburg’s Altstadt.
