"Parallel Worlds" - motto of NEXT19 digital conference

Conference to highlight global, local, technological, entrepreneurial and scientific dimensions

The NEXT19 digital conference underway from September 19-20, 2019 as part of Hamburg’s Reeperbahn Festival will bring around 1,5000 digital decision-makers, marketing executives, IT & Tech companies, start-ups and experts in research and development together to focus on the latest technology trends. International speakers include William Hurley, CEO of Strangeworks, a start-up that makes quantum computing available to all, T.L. Taylor, Professor of Comparative Media Studies at MIT and Director of Research for AnyKey, an organization dedicated to supporting and developing fair and inclusive e-sports, and James Beacham, Particle Physicist at CERN’s Large Hadron Collider.

Multiple realities

Virtual realityaugmented reality and mixed reality indicate the diverse digital trends and numerous realities. “Our reality is increasingly determined by digital products and technologies, which give us a greater degree of freedom than ever before,” said Matthias Schrader, founder of NEXT. Analogue and digital life have long since merged into many different worlds rather than a single one.

Quantum computer expert

The keynote speech by Hurley is likely to be just one of many highlights. The co-founder of the Austin-based quantum computer start-up Strangeworks and author of “Quantum Computing for Babies” will outline the diversity and potential of quantum computing. Another keynote speaker, Beacham, will talk about new insights into the universe while Taylor will talk about new worlds of entertainment. Several interactive formats will give delegates an opportunity to exchange views on the future of the digital industry. The Reeperbahn Festival is being held from September 18-21, 2019 with over 40,000 expected visitors.
