Over 2,000 representatives of fintechs, banks and digital industries mulled future of finance

More than 2,000 delegates attended around 30 events during the German Fintech Week 2019, which ended Saturday (November 9, 2019) in Hamburg. The who’s who of the financial sector met innovative financial technology start-ups and discussed ideas at Finhaven, the scene of most events in HafenCity. Around 25 per cent of events were held in English for the first time, Hamburg News reports.

Digital transformation of financial sector

Topics on the agenda proved more specific both on stage and in discussions, said Clas Beese, founder and Managing Director of Fintech Week, adding, “We are in the middle of the industry’s digital transformation and people are no longer asking if, but how, when or with what they can shape change.” Around 170 delegates attended the one-day FinForward conference under the theme ”Don’t be afraid of German Angst” to mull Germany’s special features and Europe’s various fintech markets.
